House Bill No. 7301 BY Lima, Lima, Vella-Wilkinson, Place, Noret ENTITLED, AN ACT RELATING TO CRIMINAL OFFENSES — WEAPONS (Permits any person 18 years of age or older to possess a stun gun and permits those persons with a concealed carry permit can also carry a stun gun. Adds “tasers” to the definition of “firearm.” Creates appeal process for denial of permit to carry.)

House Bill No. 7889 BY Potter ENTITLED, AN ACT RELATING TO CRIMINAL OFFENSES – WEAPONS (Prohibits the operation of an outdoor gun range within one mile or closer of any kindergarten through grade twelve (K-12) schools.)
This bill will SHUT DOWN many of the outdoor ranges since there are several that are within one mile of a school. One mile might sound like a long distance, but 1 square mile is only 640 acres and most outdoor ranges do not have this amount of property. You can measure the distance between a school and a range by using Google Maps.
