SOUTH COUNTY ROD AND GUN CLUB Newsletter
March 20th, 2025
President’s message
Hello members,
I hope this letter finds you well and ready for spring. We have been working on the many projects we have in process thanks to our great board members, committees and volunteers. We are looking forward to a great summer season.
At this point we are still waiting for the National Guard to return. This may not be until next year because they are being deployed, however, our project is still moving forward just at a slightly slower pace. We will be looking for volunteers to help with various projects.
The town has approved the application for the Country Music Festival in October. This will bring in much needed income to help the club with funding to keep our projects moving forward. The company that is holding the festival will be bringing in equipment to help level one of the clearings and finish the upgrades on the driveway. Stay tuned for details.
We will be planning a Steak Fry and family range day for all club members, the proceeds will go towards the Junior Rifle Team. We will be announcing a date soon!
As many of you know, this is going to be a tough year for gun owners at the State House. We are up against a very aggressive agenda to take away our guns. This years Assault Weapons Ban include all Semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and pistols. There are thousands of common firearms included in this ban. The language in the bill also does not include hunting or Concealed Carry as a permitted use. There will be a rally on March 26th at 2:00. You need to be at this rally to stand together to defend our rights. As a reminder probationary members’ this rally will count towards your work hours. I hope to see everyone there!
Sincerely,
Brenda Jacob, President
